Abstract | Protein is a vital macronutrient essential for human health and well-being. While both plant and animal protein sources provide essential amino acids, their nutritional profiles differ significantly. Plant-based proteins are often associated with a reduced risk of chronic diseases. However, consumption of animal products, particularly red and processed meat, has been linked to adverse health outcomes. A balanced approach, incorporating a variety of protein sources, is generally recommended. It is important to keep up to date and abreast of current research into plant and animal proteins. The scientific material covering these aspects increases daily. To address this, we have compiled a list of resources recommended by researchers, physicians, practitioners, and others who actively work on plant and animal proteins. We have included information on over 100 organizations, scientific societies, regulatory bodies, and other web-based resources, as well as recommended books. |
